Ruston - An Oasis of Wonderfulness
I have to say - I did not really know what to expect from Ruston, Louisiana. I have never been to this part of the state - and to me it is a really a beautiful town. There are numerous beautiful homes here - it’s very green and has a quaint downtown with an old theatre called “Dixie.” I was in town to do a Rural Library Sustainability workshop for a group of wonderful librarians in and around Lincoln Parish. The workshop was at the Lincoln Parish Library - which is a converted furniture store. I think it is one of the best conversions I have seen in all the time that I have been traveling around to various public libraries in 8 years. The workshop was a big success, I was very happy. Plus my friend Jennifer was here from WebJunction to observe and we ate very well.
