Victoria and RexLibris
I am still in Melbourne at the moment, and working this week. I’m teaching at a fantastic training facility in the CBD (Central Business District) in Melbourne. I’m meeting up with some librarians from Yarra Plenty Regional Library on Thursday to talk about blogging etc. in their libraries, and then head to Sydney on Sunday, then Brisbane on Tuesday and then on to NZ.
It’s been a lot of fun walking around the city, going through the various markets (Queen Victoria Market for example) and the arcades in all of the old buildings.
I had a wonderful weekend, I was invited by my colleague from here at CAVAL, Sue, to stay at her beach house in Ocean Grove, Victoria. She just built a house across from some sand dunes on the Southern Ocean. She is from Geelong, Victoria originally, so we toured around the area. It seems to be a peaceful area, with lots of views of the ocean. It sort of has this California coast, surfer feel.
I have been visiting the various museums here in Melbourne (Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum) and of course eating my way through the city. I’m hopefully not gaining too many pounds, thanks to walking everywhere! Tomorrow I’m going to do some work at the State Library of Victoria and then Friday perhaps take a tour of the Great Ocean Road.
I have posted some photos in an Australia/NZ set, so keep an eye on it for more posting soon - probably tomorrow.
Having a wonderful time so far, but do miss certain people back home :-).

I take it you mean me when you say “certain people back home.” And I miss you, too. However, I can’t help but hope you are fat, fat, fat when you get home. So there.
Love you lots.

You lucky dog! I never really saw much of Melbourne when I was there so I’ve enjoyed seeing it through your eyes. The Great Ocean Road is fantastic; the rock formations in the northern part of the WA Penninsula near cape Flattery always remind me of that area . It’s too bad you can’t spend more time in Sydney. Think of me if you make it to Kings Cross (is the Pepsi sign still there, I wonder) and definitely try to get to Bondi beach even if you have to huddle on the sand in a sweater like I did when I was there. I miss you!!!

Ok clarification, Sue is from England originally but grew up in Geelong. I miss you all too! And I’m not getting fat so there.
