Final Days in Melbourne
My time in Melbourne is winding down shortly. I spent some time Wednesday and Thursday this week at the State Library of Victoria doing some work and catching up on emails etc. I even got my Library Card! (Ok, I’m a total library geek.) I spent a lot of time in the Redmond Barry Reading Room - it’s a must see if you ever come here. I took a look around at the Experimedia Room - it’s where you can experiment with different new electronic media.
I went to see the movie “The Number 23″ while here, it was ok, but it was the price of the movie that was shocking - $15 Australian. Not worth it! ![]()
This is an amazing place - I could definitely see living here someday. Today I visited the University of Melbourne to see if I could find a decent t-shirt, but I was disappointed by what they had to offer. The campus is pretty though! Now on my way to Fitzroy Gardens to see Captain Cook’s Cottage - and then perhaps after that the Old Melbourne Gaol.
Yesterday I met with the Yarra Plenty Regional Library Librarians who recently implemented a very successful take on the 23 Things Project. Thanks to Christine and your collegues for taking the time out of your day to meet with me and show me a few of your branches!

Ummmm, the only “reading room” I know of isn’t a happy place when I have to spend a lot of time there…..
