Sunshine and Rain
I flew down to Tampa on Thursday to teach a class - “Marketing Your Virtual Library” for a group of awesome librarians at the Ocala Public Library (for NEFLIN). This library used to be a grocery store - much like the library I was in, in Ruston, Louisiana in April. I spoke to one of the library staffers about the library and she seemed disappointed that they weren’t the only library that converted a grocery store. I assured her that there are very few that I know of that have taken such a large space like this and done such a great job - in fact in 8 + years of traveling, I can’t remember another one besides Ruston of this size.
The class went really well considering I have never taught it and really didn’t have time to look the information over until the plane ride down to Tampa. Lately I have been feeling like Loretta Lynn. By that I mean, a particular scene in “Coal Miners Daughter” - where she is all dressed up in that frilly dress with the big cuffs…wakes up on the bus and “Doo?” isn’t there - she tries to play the new song, it doesn’t work and then she ultimately collapses on stage. Yes, I’m a little dramatic, but that is sort of how I feel at the moment. I don’t think I’ll collapse anytime soon on stage, but I am tired and worn out.
We could use some of this afternoon rain that is typical here in Florida, up in Atlanta. The new landscaping for my condo is trying to survive but Atlanta has put some severe restrictions on watering ![]()
I think my sister and I are going to Busch Gardens today to take photos of my nephew Jason at work (and maybe go ride a coaster or two). I haven’t been there in a long time!!!
