Overwhelmed and Starry-eyed
I’m trying really hard to keep a handle on all the technology in my life. I have
- gmail email account
- work email account
- numerous lists I subscribe to (mostly for work related stuff)
- Ning
- Zoho
- AIM
- Yahoo!
- MSN
- bloglines
- personal blog
- work blog
- CEBuzz blog
- del.icio.us
- Work account
- Personal account
- Flickr
- the list goes on….
I have the user names and pw’s recorded of course. I have tried to just subscribe to most of these things using Bloglines. I can of course subscribe to Flickr, del.icio.us, zoho etc. via bloglines but IF someone sends me a message using the service - what then!? So I am feeling like, just to keep up with technology I basically need to be on the fricking computer every minute of the day. I don’t want to do that. So any recommendations on better managing the technology in your life? Any tips anyone wants to share?
On a more positive note: I saw Stardust finally this afternoon. I absolutely loved this movie. I remember when I was at FSU, one of my friends told me about Neil Gaiman but I never read any of his work. Now I think I might just have to do that. I really liked the soundtrack as well. I used to buy them a lot but haven’t in recent memory (unless you count Brokeback Mountain - I guess that counts!) but I might pick this one up as well. I find music like this to be useful to listen to when I’m writing in my journal or just doing some work. No lyrics to try to listen to, to distract my thinking.
